Three days at Fira de Cornellà
Spannabis 2025 took place on 14–16 March at Fira de Cornellà, in Cornellà de Llobregat in the Barcelona metropolitan area. The venue presented the gathering as a meeting of exhibitors, professionals and visitors, combining industry displays, conferences and professional contacts. The geography matters: the familiar Barcelona label referred here to a metropolitan venue in Cornellà.
A conference alongside the exhibition
The World Cannabis Conference programme ran on 14–15 March at L’Auditori de Cornellà, connected to the fair. This added a public-discussion format to the exhibition floor. Its subjects extended beyond products: culture, political reform, patients’ needs and the relationship between science and law all appeared in the programme. The result was a meeting place for different professional and civic perspectives.
Culture and representation on Friday
Friday’s announced programme included a discussion of cannabis in 1980 s cinema with Toni Benages and Ana Rodríguez, followed by a women-in-cannabis panel. A later policy session featured Ana Afuera and Patty Amiguet. These were distinct conversations: screen portrayals concern cultural memory, while participation in an industry and changing regulation concern institutions and representation.
Medicinal cannabis before the decree
Saturday’s programme included Carola Pérez and Manuel Guzmán discussing the development of medicinal-cannabis policy in Spain. The date places that conversation before Royal Decree 903/2025 of 7 October. By 2026, the decree and a published AEMPS monograph supplied a concrete pharmaceutical framework. The 2025 programme therefore captures a policy discussion at an earlier legislative stage, when patient advocacy and scientific work were still being translated into the later regulatory instrument.
